Message to PHOTOGRAPHERS from
MINNEAPOLIS / St. PAUL / REGIONFrom Leslie Feinberg:
I REQUEST YOUR HELPI’m SEEKING PHOTOS/CREDITS/CAPTIONS
From ALL LOCAL EXPRESSIONS of
SOLIDARITY with CECE McDONALD!I am developing a slide show of photographs that show solidarity with CeCe McDonald. The slide show—titled “This is what solidarity looks like!”—will be part of a multi-media dedication to free CeCe McDonald in the online free 20thanniversary author’s edition of Stone Butch Blues.
I am requesting help in collecting photographs from each and every local expression of solidarity for CeCe McDonald in and around Minneapolis.
This photo slide show is open to ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS to submit one or more photographs from local street art, marches, noise demonstrations, protest in prosecutor’s office, street parties, club announcements, flyers and more expressions of solidarity with CeCe McDonald.
Representing the breadth and depth and tenacity and loving solidarity that so many communities have expressed to CeCe McDonald locally in Minneapolis is not going to be easy, but with your help, I promise to do my best.
GETTING IT RIGHT
& IN WRITINGPlease contribute a photo/s. Please also fill out a photo information/photo credit forms. (see urls below)
If I make an error in putting up your photo information, please assume good will. I’ll thank you for amending the public record and make the correction as quickly as I can.
Since others are prepared to help if I am not free to continue working on this photographic solidarity effort, it’s important that all information be in written form.
And, it is also important that you get the credit you deserve for your contribution to this slide show. My goal is that each person feels good about taking part in it, and feels that their rights have been respected at every step of the way.
PROTECTING COLLECTIVE
WORK IN PUBLICI don’t want the collection of photographs, and labeling of photo information, to be disrupted by my trial—scheduled to begin Dec. 12, 2012.
So I’ve created a transparent, publicly-viewable work-space set on my flickr site. The set is titled: “This is what solidarity looks like!”
http://www.flickr.com/photos/transgenderwarrior/sets/72157631752126345/
I’ve only uploaded photographs for which I have received written photo information/photo credit. I’ve recorded on the flickr work set all the photo information and photo credit that I received from the photographers.
This flickr set allows photographers, and those in the photographs, to develop the captions, correct any errors, name themselves, or request that the photo be removed. I will remove any photograph without question, if asked.
Please respect the photo credit and rights of each photographer by asking for further use. All photographers: Feel free to add your own contact information on your photo on flickr.
TRIAL/JAIL: KEEP SENDING PHOTOS
& PERMISSIONS/CAPTIONS!You can send me photos right up until I leave to travel to Minneapolis, on Dec. 11.
You can hand me photos and forms any day I’m in court on trial.
You can keep sending photos if I’m in jail.
And you can hand me photos/forms the day I step out of jail, because I’ll go right back to working on this photographic solidarity with CeCe McDonald’s struggle.

October 8 - Day of the Heroic Guerrilla
45 years ago, on October 8, 1967, the great revolutionary internationalist Comandante Che Guevara was captured by Bolivian military forces and U.S. CIA agents. He was executed the following day, his body displayed to the media. But the imperialist plan to discredit the heroic guerrilla backfired — Che’s heroic martyrdom only fueled his role as an inspiration to generations of revolutionaries worldwide.
